FAQs

Q: How old must an athlete be to participate in Elite205 Track Club?

A: USATF allows athletes ages 6-18. In order to be able to compete at the National level, athletes who are 6 years of age, will have to turn 7 by December 31st of the current year. *Be advised that athletes under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of each practice.

Elite205 welcomes athletes as young as 6 years of age as well if athletes are able to follow directions and comply with requests from the coaching staff. While we want to foster the growth of all children, we cannot turn this time into babysitting. If we feel your athlete is not ready, we will set aside a conference time to discuss next steps.

Q: Where does the Elite205 practice?

A: Location TBD.

Q: When does the season begin?

A: We will began practicing around mid-April as the season kicks off in May for Outdoor Season. As this will be our first indoor season, information will be updated soon with practice dates and meet schedules.

Q: What are the practice times and days?

A: Practice will initially be on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00pm at a location TBD. Following commencement for summer break, we will move to 3 days per week.

Q: Are practices mandatory?

A: Practices are mandatory. Habitual absences will result in not being able to compete.

Q: Are the meets mandatory?

A: Yes, attendance is mandatory. Competing at the highest level is not an easy feat. Consistency is key. Competing allows our athletes to gauge their progress against other athletes and is necessary to advance to regionals, state and nationals. In 2024, USATF took the top 5 athletes from each event, per age group. More details will be provided as the season began.

Track & Field is a major time commitment. So that you are able to properly plan, a schedule of meets will be provided early in the season.

Q: Do you provide transportation to meets?

A: No, parents must provide transportation to and from the meets for their athlete(s). Coaching staff will not be responsible for athletes other than the times they are competing. We have to ensure we are active and present for all athletes for the duration of the meets. Parental oversight is integral to ensure the meets run smoothly so athletes cannot be dropped off and left unattended.

If another family has agreed to bring and be responsible for your athlete on meet days, there is a release form that you will have to fill out before this is allowed.

Q: What credentials do the coaches have?

A: The Elite205 coaching staff are led by Coaches Dorian & Tiffany James. You can read their bio here. We are a new team and look to include more coaching staff as the needs arise.

If you have coaching experience and feel you will be an asset to our team, please feel free to reach out at info@elite205track.org.

Q: How long does the Elite205 season last?

A: The outdoor season typically runs from May to July, culminating with USATF Junior Olympics (and/or AAU nationals) which typically falls the latter part of July, into early August. TAAF league also falls within this time frame.

Q: What if my child has never competed in Track & Field?

A: This is the best time to learn! We encourage those without any experience to come out and have fun while learning the sport of Track & Field. We teach with compassion, and know that we are not only building athletes, but confident, compassionate, well-rounded children. We set daily goals to be better today than you were yesterday. As long as they can check this box, we will handle it from there. We aim for accomplishment of PRs as a gauge for improvement, especially for our younger, inexperienced athletes.

Q: What is the cost to join Elite205 and what is included?

A: Registration is $150 per athlete. Registration fees include club membership, membership insurance, and banquet fee. This price does not include uniform, which can be purchased through our team store.

We are also a registered USATF and AAU club.

Q: How do I order uniforms?

A: Uniform orders will go out after club registration is complete. Uniforms include shorts, top, and a warm-up set. There are additional items that can be purchased outside of the required items.

Q: Does my child need a pair of track spikes?

A: Track spikes are optional, though beneficial. We are aware that youth sizes are often hard to locate. We will do our best to provide resources to vendors that carry youth sizes.

There are different types of spikes, dependent on the event your child will be competing in. We will discuss and provide guidance once it is determined what event(s) your child will compete in. A list of vendors can be found here.

Q: How will we know about the track meets?

A: We will utilize Athletic.net to communicate with parents and athletes. Team code is NWKP5SGU8, or simply scan below.
